- CTS is looking for an English teacher who can provide high-quality instruction, support student learning and growth, foster a positive learning environment, and collaborate effectively with others to promote student success.
- Possess a thorough understanding of, and an ability to relate to, youth.
- Understanding of the role of the classroom teacher and the public school’s relationship to the community and the people served.
- Capacity to make thoughtful decisions based on facts, knowledge, and insight, and the courage to stand by the results.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, small and large groups, by correspondence or oral expression.
- Ability to organize and plan effectively.
- Possess an ethical and professional attitude toward colleagues and the policies of the district.
- Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
- Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
- Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend, and reach.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.

Position Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-planned lessons that effectively teach English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are actively engaged in the learning process and feel motivated to participate.
- Set high academic standards and expectations for student achievement in English language proficiency, and provide support to help students meet those standards.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, including English language learners and students with varying levels of proficiency.
- Administer fair and meaningful assessments to measure student progress in English language learning, provide timely and constructive feedback, and offer support for improvement.
- Maintain a well-managed classroom environment where rules and expectations are clear, and where students feel safe, respected, and supported in their learning.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in English language teaching, educational technology, and pedagogical approaches.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to coordinate instruction, share resources and ideas, and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues through clear and timely communication about curriculum, student progress, and any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism in all interactions with students, colleagues, parents, and the wider school community, including adherence to ethical guidelines and professional conduct standards.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and academic achievement, providing support, encouragement, and guidance to help all students reach their full potential in English language learning.
- Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Building Principal and/or Assistant Principal.
